Jim Hanna is a lifelong resident of Aiken and a graduate from Aiken High School. He later attended Wofford College on a football scholarship and graduated with a BS in Psychology. When he returned to Aiken permanently after graduation, he became active in youth athletics as a volunteer coach. In 1990, he married the former Anita Tatum, also a lifelong resident of Aiken. As a member of St. Thaddeus, he served on the vestry 4 times, acolyte master for 15 years, and was chosen to be on a pastoral search committee. He volunteered at the St. Thaddeus soup kitchen as a cook for several years and later he and Anita became the soup kitchen administrators.

He has served on the Mead Hall board twice and was co-chairman of the City of Aiken Athletic Committee that was instrumental in the creation of Citizen’s Park.

Currently, Jim volunteers at the St. John’s Grace Kitchen and he’s a member of the church council. He and Anita own and operate Ahh Sunshine, which has been in existence since 2013, and has assisted the foundation with t-shirt and event banner designs and printing since the very beginning of our work. Jim and Anita have one daughter, Tatum, who is the pride of their life and a student at USC Aiken.
